Before your Ceremony..
Well before your Big Day comes, there are a few legal requirements that must be completed. It is recommended that once you have set your wedding date, you book an Authorised Wedding Celebrant in Melbourne as soon as possible as availabilities can be limited. I am happy to meet with you and your Fiancé to discuss all the necessary requirements to make your dream wedding a reality—however, as public holidays and “Special Days” (Valentines Day, special dates 12/12/12 etc), fill fast, ensure to contact me ASAP to ensure my availability for your special day! Also, please feel free to check your date against my Online Booking Calendar to see if your date is currently available.
What do we need to do before our Wedding Day?
Once you have decided that I am the right Marriage Celebrant in Melbourne for you, we will need to fill out a Notice of Intended Marriage Form together (also known as a NOIM). This needs to be completed 30 + 1 days before the date of your Wedding Date. To successfully complete the NOIM, you will be required to supply the following original documents to be sighted by myself.
- If Born in Australia, an original copy or extract of your Australian Birth Certificate. If you have lost or misplaced your Birth Certificate, a copy can be obtained from the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in the state you were born.
- If born outside Australia, an original copy or extract of your Overseas Birth Certificate or Passport.
- If previously Married, Divorce Certificate or Death Certificate must be provided to prove the dissolution of previous marriage.
Before the Notice of Intended Marriage is signed, I will require a deposit to secure my services for the date and time that you request. After this has been done, I will supply you with a book of Readings, Vows, Ceremonies, and Rituals that you can have a look over and see what you would like to include in your wedding.
On Your Wedding Day -
On the day of your wedding, I will carry out your Ceremony in a clear and professional manner, and ensure that I dress to suit your colour scheme and any other requirements. I can supply you (if required) use of a state-of-the-art portable cordless PA system with wireless or corded microphones at no extra charge! This PA system supports use of a CD, USB stick and/or can be hooked up to an iPod to ensure you can play whatever music you choose for your ceremony. Discussions prior to the day of your wedding will decide how and what we play during the wedding.

As the Ceremony draws to a close, we will require you both, two witnesses over the age of 18 and myself to sign 3 Legal documents. These are; the Certificate of Marriage, the Marriage Register and the presentation Marriage Certificate. Straight after the ceremony, I will present you with your presentation Marriage Certificate and happily announce you as Husband and Wife.
After Your Wedding Day is done..
After the ceremony has concluded, I will finalise all documents and file them with Births, Deaths, and Marriages in a prompt and timely manner. Also, within 2 weeks, I will contact you to provide you with a hand-bound copy of your Ceremony (as a gift from me to you both), a small gift and a feedback form that I would ask you please complete and send back with the self-addressed envelope included.
If you are looking for a down to earth and fun Wedding Celebrant Melbourne, I am the Civil Celebrant for you.
